TRYOUT INFORMATION

.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!

I would also highly recommend that everyone keep going to tumbling classes. Also try some other gyms for a class to prepare skills for tryouts. (try Xtreme at http://www.xtremealtitude.com/ or Cheer Central at http://www.cheercentralsuns.com/ for the regular class schedules. Or try CATS at http://www.catsgym.com/) This is obviously not a requirement, but tumbling skills will be an important portion of the tryout selection. Even for those on the JV squad, the more tumbling skills we have the better JV will be at games and competitions.

TRYOUT DATES: Anyone interested in being on the 2010/2011 varsity or JV teams will need to tryout. Varsity and JV are each limited to 25 squad members by CHSSA bylaws. Skill restrictions will be in place in order to tryout for varsity team next season. In order to try out for varsity, the girls will need to be able to perform a standing backhandspring and a roundoff-backhandspring.

Information meeting: parents and girls need to attend, Tuesday, April 6th 6-8pm Monarch Cafeteria. (NOTE THIS DATE HAS CHANGED! It was Thursday, April 8th.)

Tryout clinics: Mon - Thurs, April 12-15 from 3:30 to 6:30 in the gym.

Tryouts: Friday, April 16 at 3:30 in gym.

The new JV and Varsity teams will be announced Friday evening following tryouts.

New team parent meeting (Varsity and JV): Wed, 4/21 6:30 - 8pm in cafeteria.

New uniform orders Monday, 4/26. We will be ordering new uniforms for varsity and JV, JV will also continue to use the game uniform, and varsity will keep their comp uniform the same.

Varsity summer camp: Spirit Xpress West July 21, 22, and 23.

JV camp will be different. We will attend the UCA camp at CU July 6-9. This is a sleepover camp in Boulder. They will stay in the dorms at the college Mon, Tues, and Wed. Thursday is a day for parents to come and see what we have learned.

Help spread the word about tryouts. It would be great to have 25 JV and 25 Varsity squad members next season. JV would consider coed participants as well if there is enough interest.

Tell your friends and neighbors in 8th grade as well.
