GET WELL SOON, EMMA R
This week at cheer practices, we are missing our teammate, Emma R, who is out due to an injury. We miss her, and wish her a speedy recovery. This is really living up to our slogan, "WHERE'S EMMA?"

Sally Foster Fundraiser
Don't forget to register for the Sally Foster fundraiser. (check into the really high quality wrapping paper).
Sales can be made online, and the product will ship directly to the buyer.
We are extending the dates for the sales through the end of the year. But the top earner from the fundraiser by Halloween at 6pm, will receive a free one hour private lesson from Gary Weiland at Xtreme Lafayette. He is an amazing tumbling coach, and the winner will learn a lot.
Remember, this is an individual fundraiser, and 40% of your sales will go directly into your personal cheer account.
So, get selling, and we will tally the sales on Halloween to find our winner.
Here are the details for registering:
The first thing each girl needs to do is to create an account on Sally
Fosters Website so that not only does Monarch JV Cheer get credit for orders, they do directly.
> 1.go to http://www.sallyfoster.com/sf/
> 2. click on the "seller section"
> 3. click REGISTRATION/LOGIN

PARENT MEETING THIS THURSDAY
Please do not forget the parent meeting this Thursday, September 15 at 6pm following practice. We will go over all of our plans for the season including competitions and fundraising, football games, etc. We will also cover our cheer rules and expectations. It is really important that the girls be there with at least one parent.
We are planning to meet in the auditorium at 6pn. JV will probably break out and go to the cafeteria for a final 20 minutes or so of JV only information. We should be finished no later than 7:30. (Hopefully much earlier).

Cheer Testing!
Hey girls,
One more thing to think about during the break. Everyone will be tested on their knowlege and ability to perform the essential cheers. I gave this list to everyone, and it is also on this website. Go to the "Cheers" page. We will test before the first game at cheer practice on September 1st. Our first game is one week later. You will be tested in groups of 4. This is for your own benefit. You do NOT want to be out there on the track, and not know the cheers.
So, you have 5 weeks to learn the cheers, but do not wait until the last minute. Learn and practice every day.

Break from cheer
So,
We have no cheer practice from now until August 9th. At that time, we will have some very important practices to get ready for our first competition at Elitch Gardens. I have in my files that Kaitlin and Sariah will be absent on August 10, 11, and 12th. Otherwise everyone is there. Good news.
During the next week, tumbling at Xtreme is still on at the regular times. Also, take this time to get with cheer sisters to learn your essential cheers. If you did not get a video for some reason, let me know. But, some cheers are not on the video, so you will still need to get with your cheer sisters. Also, don't get lazy, stay active and keep stretching your splits, toe touches and back bends whenever possible.
Don't forget to register with the athletic office before school starts. You will not be able to practice once school starts unless you are registered.
Have a nice break, I will see you on August 9th. Or next week at tumbling, (I will probably be there.)

UCA Camp Champions!!!
Congratulations! Monarch JV was awarded Camp Champions in the JV Elite Xtreme Routine!
We also received 4 blue ribbons, and one red ribbon.
The girls learned so much about cheerleading this week and bonded as a team. They will be able to start the year with a large group of friends. I am so proud of all of them.
Now, get some rest. I will see all of you at our next home practice on July 13th. We will be making spirit posters that day, so do not wear your best t-shirt.
Go Coyotes!!! CHeck out more photos on Flickr! Just click on the photostream. That should take you to the photos on Flickr.

Cheer camp update and details for Friday
Hello families,
So, cheer camp is going very well. The food is great and camp is being held in a beautiful indoor football field, so no sunburns.
We just sent the girls to bed and lights are out! So I found a minute to email.
Everyone is healthy and happy and behaving very well.
Today we were awarded a blue ribbon for our cheer evaluation. We were the only team in our group to receive blue. I am so proud of them. They are progressing so well!
So, for Friday, if you are planning to come up to watch the performances, please plan to arrive by about 8:45am. Performances are starting at 9am and we are all done around 11am. We will be in the indoor practice fields on plum street. I am on my Droid so I cannot link a map. I am not sure of the best place to park. I have been parking in the large lot on Plum Street adjacent to Allison dorm.
We are having a great time, and the girls should be sufficiently exhausted by Friday!
Texting is probably the best way to reach me at 303-579-3323.

Bolder Boulder
.
So, for the Bolder Boulder, the start position has moved from previous years, and is now one mile south on 30th at Pearl. Jeff Krinsky says that we cannot park at the NIST. So, our best option is to get dropped off and picked up. My husband can take my daughter and 3 others, then Sam can drive her car home. I can drive myself and 6 others, then my husband can drive my car home. And, Jackie Daley says that she can take her family and one other. Then, we will need pickup. My husband can pick up me and 5 others, and we need one more driver coming home.
I think that we have 5 cheerleaders, plus myself, Jackie Daley, Mary Ann Weidman, her younger daughter, and Jeff Krinsky. (total 6 kids, 4 adults). Am I missing anyone?
Girls should wear Coyotes shirt and MOHI shorts. Meet at the school at 8:00am. (We need to leave early because of the traffic.) Our WA wave starts at 9:20.
Let me know if you are available for pickup at around 1pm. We need at least one more car to drive up to 5 people home.

Parent Meeting Recap
Hello,
I enjoyed meeting everyone new at the meeting tonight, and I love seeing familiar faces as well. I know that everyone glazed over by the end of the meeting with so much information. Please just let me know if you have any further questions.
I will email the cheer contract to everyone tonight. Please look it over and sign the green waiver. Have your daughter bring the waiver to the first practice this Wednesday. Please also write your name at the top of the green sheet so that I know who's it is.
The JV Cheer calendar should be up to date at this time. Let me know if you see that something is missing.
One thing that I forgot to mention is that the girls should wear white t-shirts and black cheer shorts to practices unless otherwise specified. Soffe brand shorts are best, and they can be found in the juniors section at Kohls for about $8, or at Dick's or Sport Authority usually as well. Flyers should wear bike shorts or "spankies" under their shorts as well. We will be ordering shoes, so in the meantime, you can wear athletic shoes to practice. (flyers try to avoid high ridges.)
I will also email a cost schedule for when payments will be due into your cheer accounts.
Check back often.

We will split up and half of JV will cheer with varsity for half of the game, plus going out at quarters and a big cheer stunt at halftime with everyone.
Also, I emailed voting ballots for the end of the year awards. I need to place that order tomorrow, so please bring your votes to the game tonight.

During the winter break, the JV cheerleaders gathered to make lunches to hand out to homeless people around the Denver area. It was a great way to give back to the community.

Mark your calendars for tryouts and UCA camp
.
It is time to start thinking about next season already. (In case you are thinking of staying with Monarch Cheerleading for another season.)
I suspect that everyone is planning their summer vacations and camps at this time. So, if you are thinking of doing cheerleading next year, I wanted to give you a heads up on our possible dates for our UCA cheer camp. The camp that works the best for me is at CSU (in Fort Collins) from June 28 to July 1.
Full UCA camp schedule:
http://register.varsity.com/camps/register/ucacampsearch.aspx
I do not know whether or not varsity will be going, or if it will just be JV again. Cathy and I will sit down after nationals to plan for tryouts and the upcoming season. I believe that this camp is very beneficial for these girls, and it is great to have the entire team there if possible. I also think that it will be nice to go to a camp that is a little further away, so we feel like we have gone to a destination.
Also a heads up that tryouts for JV and varsity will probably be the week of April 12-15th. I will let you know as soon as that is decided. We would begin practicing as a team in mid May. If you are continuing with cheer next year, please keep up your tumbling in a class or privates, or at least open gyms. Tumbling skills are very good to have for both varsity and JV.
BVSD has cancelled school and all activities tomorrow, so I assume that means no basketball game Tuesday night. I will see everyone on Thursday for practice. If the game is rescheduled, I will let you know.

Be at the main gym by 6:50pm. We may need to go in together so that we do not need to pay. We will sit together and cheer for the wrestlers. We will stay no later than 8:15pm. This was really fun last year, and they very much appreciated it.
I can give everyone a little information about wrestling as well. My son used to wrestle, so I am familiar with the sport.
Wear your black jerseys and jeans.

Varsity Basketball this Tuesday Jan 4th
We will be cheering for the Varsity girls basketball game this Tuesday.
We really could use some practice to warm up and refresh our memories, so please meet at the school at 5pm for the 6:30pm basketball game. We will also put together our timeout cheers during this practice. The game should end by 8pm. Wear your new game (diagonal MHS) uniforms with the "crisp" competition bow. BRING YOUR POMS!!! Wear your sweats.
For those girls that missed the mandatory basketball cheer practice before the break, you will need to sit out one game. (This means sitting with me in the stands for one game.) Everyone else will be cheering. Because it is a varsity game, we can do crowd leading cheers like "MHS" with elevators and signs, Marching, etc. We can definitely make a good showing.
Practice your basketball cheers. I emailed a file with the basketball cheers today. We practiced all of them before break, but try to refresh your memories.
